Satellite Image Update

0

There is a park in my local city that was redone about a year or two ago. The satellite image on OSM is of the old park, Google Maps just recently updated the satellite image to what the park looks like now. Since they have updated does anyone know how I might be able to request that whatever satellite imagery that OSM uses update their satellite image of the park as well? There is actually two parks in my city that are this way.

OSM doesn't have any satellite imagery of its own, but several providers have given permission to use their imagery to improve OpenStreetMap.

Of these providers Mapbox is the only one I'm aware of that has an interface to request fresh imagery. I think they tend to purchase in large batches, so it may be quite a while before they act on it.

Of course before you request an update you should check that that particular layer hasn't already been updated.
