Yes, you can create a map which is mostly transparent and overlay that over another layer. I wrote a diary entry about that a couple of years ago, and I'm sure that there are examples here too. answered 10 Jan '21, 20:24  SomeoneElse ♦ |
Yes, you need to extract these borders from the OSM map data and then export this as a line vector layer, which can then be added as a third and fixed layer on top of your map. You can do this with QGIS. Probably you could also find vector EU border map files on the internet too. Hi Olivier, which borders do you mean ? The only thing your map shows are red dots figuring airfields in Europe What’s the difference between that and airfields.com ? There won’t be any border visible is any view besides the old cold war borders, but that’s even approximate.
I talk about borders on countries in europe. You can see them on the street view map but not on the satellite view.
